How are you feeling today? It’s your boy Pastor Dre and I just wanted to stop by and write a blog entitled “Why your Church needs a Website.”

I would like to give you a few reasons and answer the question of “why have a website?” I would like to share why I feel it is important for every Church or even your Youth Ministry to have a website in this generation that we live in.

Here are 7 reasons Why your Church needs a Website:

1. Why your Church needs a Website – Keep in touch with the younger generation – When your Church or Youth Ministry has a website it helps you to stay in step with this generation. This young generation pretty much looks everything up online. If your Church is not online then you can seem out of touch with this generation.

2. Why your Church needs a Website – Extra avenue of income – Having a website can create another avenue of income. Lets’s face most people do their banking online, book hotels online, book flights online, pay bill online and even sometimes order food online. I guess the question that comes to mind is, Can your Church give online? Having a website will create an opportunity for your members or even site visitor to pay their tithes online and/or even give to a worthy cause online.

3. Why your Church needs a Website – Constant Ministry – With the advancement of Digital media, audio and video Churches now have an opportunity to share their sermons, teachings and even have live broadcast online. This is helpful if a member of your Church is not able to make a service on a Sunday they can download the message at a later time. This is helpful is someone is interested in knowing about your Church, they can view you online first before they show up. This is also helpful if a member or visitor to your site would like to hear a preaching or a teaching that has an opportunity to minister to their needs.

4. Why your Church needs a Website – Reach a broader audience – When a Church has a website it is anwhy your Church needs a website opportunity to let the world know about your Church, you are no longer limited to flyers, radio spots or television ads, but a website can take your Church around the world instantly and cheaper than some of these mediums.You also have the opportunity to to let the world know where you are located, the times of your services and how to get a hold of you if they would like more information.

5. Why your Church needs a Website – Organize Events – Unfortunately most Churches only depend on bulletins and newsletters, which sometimes barely make it past the parking lot, to stay in touch with their members and organize events. With a website you can keep your members up to date on what is going on in the Church 24 hours a day. With a website you can organize people around upcoming Church events. Such as a fellowship at the park, a street rally at the local neighborhood or a concert with a special guest. The good thing about a website is this information is available 24 hours a day in case they were not paying attention to the announcements (though that’s rare lol).

6. Why your Church needs a Website – 24/7 Evangelism – When a Church has a website your service times and service information is available to the unsaved at any time of the day and anytime of the night. So if someone is in need and they are looking for hope or they are looking for help they can find your Church when it has a web presence. They can find your address and phone number at anytime.

Why your Church needs a Website – Allows people to find your Church – If someone in your area wants to find your Church, how will they find it?I hope you didn’t answer the Yellow Pages and if you did (to put it nicely you are outdated). Most people will search google to find the nearest Church in their area. Maybe 5-10 years back people may have just shown up to your Church, but most people especially the younger generation checks out your website.
